German battleship of the Scharnhorst class with atypical and weak main armament (28 cm caliber), commissioned in 1938. From November 1939 to the beginning of 1942 it successfully participated in several companies. During a repair stay in Kiel, the ship was seriously affected by an air attack. 1 July 1942 for repairs and in February 1943 definitively withdrawn from the service.
