The Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress is the most famous USAAF heavy bomber of World War II. The Memphis Belle belonged to the 8th Air Fleet of the United States and flew its Tour of Duty (25 missions) to targets in France and Germany between November 1942 and May 1943.
