MARDER III AUSF. M (SD.Kfz. 138) was a German destroyer during the Second World War and was produced from May 1943 to May 1944. This version of the Marder used the chassis of the 38 (T) tank specially adapted for self -propelled supports. The engine was moved forward to the center of the hull and the combat space was lowered to the level of the bottom of the hull, which allowed to close it at least to the stern and better protect the crew of four compared to the previous SD.Kfz Models. 139 and MARDER III AUSF. H. The crew, on the other hand, was exposed upwards. With over 900 specimens, the M version was the most built of the three variants. MARDER III AUSF.
